With the assistance of WCG affiliate management teams, Mr. Rodriguez is responsible for strategic direction and oversight of the company.
Over the past decade, Mr. Rodriguez has been primarily focused on real estate investments in Florida for his own account through a variety of private ventures. Mr. Rodriguez’s ventures have included investments in high-end residential properties and commercial real estate projects. Since 2001, companies owned by Mr. Rodriguez (including through joint ventures) have entitled and sold over 2,000 residential units and nearly one million square feet of commercial space.
Prior to entering the real estate business, in the early 1990s, Mr. Rodriguez served as President of Sensormatic Del Caribe overseeing an international expansion of that company prior to its sale to its corporate parent, Sensormatic. Mr. Rodriguez also founded LDC Telecommunications in 1995. Under his control, LDC’s business grew to over 35,000 small business customers prior to the sale of LDC's assets to LDI International in 1998.
In 2006, Florida Gov. Charlie Crist appointed Mr. Rodriguez to serve as Chair of the transition team of the Florida Office of Trade, Tourism, and Economic Development (OTTED). In 2007, Gov. Crist appointed Mr. Rodriguez as the first appointee to the Board of Directors of Enterprise Florida, which replaced the Commerce Department of Florida. In 2010, Mr. Rodriguez was selected by then Governor-Elect Rick Scott for his transition team for Economic Development and Policy. In 2010, Mr. Rodriguez was also appointed Commissioner to the Sarasota-Manatee Airport Authority. In 2011, Mr. Rodriguez was reappointed to the Board of Directors of Enterprise Florida by Gov. Scott, with Mr. Rodriguez gaining the unique distinction of being the only member of that body to have been appointed by two consecutive Florida governors. In 2011, Mr. Rodriguez was appointed to Space Florida Board of Directors, the Independent Special District of the State of Florida, formed for the purposes of fostering the growth and development of a sustainable and world-leading space industry in Florida.
For the last decade, Mr. Rodriguez has served as a board member for the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, the United Way of Sarasota County, and the Casey Key Foundation. Over the years, the Rodriguez family has been a supporter of the Sarasota Chapter for Habitat for Humanity and other charities. Mr. Rodriguez currently resides in Casey Key, Florida with his wife, Susanne, and their two children.
Mr. Menke, age 44, has built his career in commercial real estate by identifying opportunities and adding value to real estate investments throughout the State of Florida. Over his 20 years of business experience he has developed a statewide network of contacts in all areas of finance and real estate. Through a multi-faceted career path, Mr. Menke has navigated a legacy of successful business and project developments as a commercial banker, real estate broker, real estate developer, property manager, civil engineering company owner and in the recent past as a LEED AP general contractor managing a team of 25 persons with over 20 million in annual revenues. During his business career in Florida, Mr. Menke has been directly involved in the transaction, development and/or construction of over $200 million dollars in real estate projects, for a myriad of third-parties, including his own account.
Prior to re-locating to Sarasota, Mr. Menke attended the University of Florida (UF) where he graduated with a B.A. in Economics in 1990 and was recruited by C&S Bank (Later NCNB) to join their Management Associates program as a Commercial Banker in St. Petersburg/Tampa.
In 1993, Mr. Menke left banking to begin his career in real estate working for Gulfside Properties, as an Assistant Project Manager and Leasing Agent. From 1994 to 1995, Mr. Menke worked exclusively on the development of a power shopping center project in Venice, Florida, including the construction of a 300,000 square foot Target anchored retail center. From 1996-2003, Mr. Menke began working in residential development and construction, first with Lee Wetherington Homes, a Sarasota based homebuilding and development company, and later as co-founder of Fidelity Homes in 2000 with his partner, David Hunihan. From 2003-2008, Mr. Menke worked in commercial real estate, as President and CEO of Wendemen Group, providing brokerage/development services; civil engineering services; and construction management for regional and national retail clients, including Home Depot and Wal-Mart.
Mr. Menke’s background and experience allowed him to pivot his organization in 2008 to focus specifically on special assets, negotiated loan workouts and financial re-structuring. In 2010, Mr. Menke teamed up with Henry Rodriguez to form Woodmere Realty Advisors, LLC, which became a full service real estate company, providing real estate investment and loan acquisition services for third-party clients and the Rodriguez family. In early 2011, Mr. Menke again partnered with Mr. Rodriguez to create Woodmere Capital Management, LLC, a Florida based private equity fund manager specializing in note acquisitions and loan workouts for distressed commercial real estate assets throughout North America.
Mr. Menke currently resides in Sarasota, Florida with his wife Kellie, and their three children. Over the last fifteen years, he has maintained an active role in the community as a volunteer and board member in several organizations including the South County YMCA, Cub Scouts (Cubmaster – Pack 24), Imagine Schools (Current Board Member) and in his church where he co-directs the Men’s Ministry program in cooperation with the Episcopal Diocese of Southwest Florida.
